It’s the voice message that has captured the attention of a nation. For a few minutes anyway.
Following on from the huge success of the Tara Murray Scare Cam Vol 1, I decided to branch out and involve a few more people from around the office.
I’m not sure it fits in with the inclusiveness policy, but any small moves forward is progress in my book.
I know, bronze is nothing too exciting to write home about. Echoing in my head is Ricky Bobby’s: “You’re either first, or last!”.
Truer words have never been spoken, but we’ll take what we can get.
The show was entered in the Best Interactive Speech Category at the IMRO Radio Awards 2019 and was shortlisted and we picked up the bronze award on the night. The show was only on air 2 months, annoyingly, the full rebrband package hadn’t been finalised, so officially, we couldn’t enter Room 104, but from a programming point of view, it was completely Room 104.
Nice to get some recognition from colleagues in the industry and congrats to Ciara Kelly on her win with Lunchtime Live on Newstalk.
If you have yet to taste the wonderful offerings that we air nightly on FM104, you can subscribe to the Room 104 podcast on iTunes, Spotify, Acast and all the usual places you get your podcasts from. Some of the features are here on the site, just click on the blog and you’ll find some of the interviews and features.
We’ll see what happens next year.
An absolute pleasure to host FM104’s The Gig this year. A huge amount raised for the ISPCC and Childline and insanely good performances from all of the acts.
Gavin James was headlining and was joined by Wild Youth, Chasing Abbey, Soulé, Wyvern Lingo, Craig Cooney and of course the legend that was Frank Jez on the decks for the night.
Thank you if you were there, all the money goes directly towards the charity and all of the acts, production staff and venue are given up for free to help make a big of an impact as possible.
